CERVANTES: ¡Estrenos en eua de Rumor de Páramo y conciertos con Patrice Michaels ... US premieres of Rumor de Páramo & Concerts with Patrice Michaels!

CERVANTES regresa a la Universidad de Texas en Dallas, EUA, donde el sábado 9 de noviembre interpretará el ESTRENO EN EUA de 6 obras de Rumor de Páramo: de los mexicanos Georgina Derbez y Federico Ibarra; los españoles Tomás Marco y Carlos Cruz de Castro; los estadounidenses Anne LeBaron y Charles Griffin; y del británico Stephen McNeff. Además habrá un adelanto de dos obras de Solo Rumores, el segundo volumen del proyecto, que se presentará en México el 29 de noviembre: las obras de Arturo Márquez y Juan Fernando Durán (ambos de México), cuyo estreno absoluto, junto con lo de los demás obras de este programa, Cervantes interpretó en octubre del 2006 en el 34 Festival Internacional Cervantino en Guanajuato, México.

El concierto de Cervantes se llevará a cabo como parte del Congreso del 30 aniversario de la ALTA (Asociación Americana de Traductores Literarios, por su siglas en inglés), después de un homenaje a Margaret Sayers Peden y Gregory Rabassa, distinguidos traductores al inglés de obras maestras como Pedro Páramo de Juan Rulfo y Cien años de soledad de Gabriel García Márquez, entre muchas más.

Durante su estancia en la Universidad en Dallas Cervantes hará algunas de sus ya famosas "conciertos-charla" con alumnos de Humanidades e impartirá clases magistrales.

De Dallas Cervantes vuela a Wisconsin, donde renueva su colaboración de más de 5 años con la afamada soprano Patrice Michaels (www.patricemichaels.com). "Las Dulcineas" interpretarán conciertos en la Universidad Lawrence en la ciudad de Appleton y en la Universidad de Wisconsin en Milwaukee. El programa es internacional y ahí se incluye música de los mexicanos Federico Ibarra y Joaquín Gutiérrez Heras, así como de Luciano Berio (Italia), Libby Larsen y Laurie Altman (EUA); y Stephen McNeff (RU), entre otros creadores. Debido al estreno en EUA de su Concierto para Clarinete y Orquesta en Buffalo, NY la semana anterior, el compositor Stephen McNeff las acompañará en ambos conciertos.

CERVANTES returns to the University of Texas at Dallas, where on Saturday 9 November she will perform the US premiere of 6 pieces from Rumor de Páramo: pieces of Mexican composers Georgina Derbez and Federico Ibarra; of US composers Anne LeBaron and Charles Griffin; and England's Stephen McNeff. And there will be a sneak preview of two pieces from her forthcoming CD Solo Rumores - Volume 2 of the Project, to be released 29 November in Mexico City - works by Mexican composers Arturo Márquez and Juan Fernando Durán .

CERVANTES appears in Dallas as part of the 30th anniversary Congress of ALTA (the American Literary Translators’ Association); her concert will take place after a homage to Margaret Sayers Peden and Gregory Rabassa, distinguished translators from Spanish to English of masterpieces like Pedro Páramo of Juan Rulfo and One Hundred Years of Solitude of Gabriel García Márquez, among many other works.

During her stay at UTD CERVANTES will interact with Humanities students through some of her famous "concert-conversations" and teach master classes.
