Agua y Piedra will be the world premiere recording of all this music except the Márquez work. Comments
Cervantes, "This is an astounding multiplicity of voices, each one singular and eloquent, from two generations of Mexican composers".
The recording's cover will feature a photograph of
Canadian photographer John Braden Bentley, recognized internationally for his art photography in which he uses the 19th-century process of "carbon-pigment printing." Engineer for the recording
will be Roberto Adrián de Elias, director of StarTrack Studios in Mexico City. Art director for the project is Juan Carlos de los Heros of Códice Graphic Design, also in México City.
Says Cervantes, "My heart is full. I feel proud, humble, and full of happiness that this project has been deemed worthy of the support of CONACULTA. I'm especially moved because Agua y Piedra
will be my first recording produced completely in México. Looking back at all the roads which have brought me to this moment, I thank the universe which has given me this opportunity, as well as all the friends and listeners who so unstintingly have supported my efforts to spread the word about this splendid music of México."
